  • Job Title: Executive Chef Location: Findlay, OH Job Type: Full-time

    Who We Are: We are Findlay Brewing Company, a brewery & taproom in downtown Findlay Ohio. We offer a full kitchen, beer garden & a variety of beer styles. Our goal is to create beer and food that can be enjoyed and celebrated by all. FBC’s food offerings are a key component of the taproom experience and are based on a small fresh food menu. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for ensuring new ideas, maintaining food cost margins, maximizing food profitability and delivering an efficient and clean kitchen.

    Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and organized Executive Chef to lead our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for menu development, staff management, and ensuring the highest quality of food production. You will oversee inventory, food cost controls and safety standards while maintaining a positive work culture.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Kitchen Management: Hire, train, schedule and supervise all kitchen staff  Line Cooks, Dishwashers etc). Maintain order and positive attitude in the kitchen.

    • Menu Development and innovation: Create monthly specials menu items and maintain/update the current menu to align with company standards and guest preferences.

    • Cost Control: Manage food costing, inventory and waste reduction to meet budget goals.

    • Operations: Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standard of taste and presentation. Maintain strict health, safety and sanitation guidelines (Ohio Dept. of Health).

    • Collaboration: Work closely with the taproom manager and co-owners to execute events and improve guest satisfaction. 

    • Basic technical skills: Especially in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.

    • Strong attention to detail.

    • Be informed: Be knowledgeable of all FBC policies and procedures to ensure all staff abides

    • Training: Instruct new and existing kitchen staff on the preparation, arrangement and plating of dishes.

    • Assist cooks as needed. When necessary, step in to assist during emergencies or rush periods. When short-staffed, the Kitchen Manager is expected to step in to fulfill a position if a replacement cannot be found.

    • Cleanliness: Ensure the hygiene and food safety standards are met in all stages of food preparation, starting with ingredients and ending with the finished dish leaving the kitchen door/window. Coordinate Level One Food Safety Training for all kitchen staff as often as needed.

    • Maintain kitchen equipment: Ensuring quality conditions and signal any malfunction before it affects staff or customers.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Experience: Proven track record running a high-volume kitchen with 3+ years of experience in a kitchen management role. You know how to handle a Friday night rush in downtown Findlay as well as strong knowledge of BOH systems (inventory, ordering, cost of goods sold).

    • Style: You understand "Gastropub" style. You respect the classics (wings, pretzels) but aren't afraid to get creative.

    • Leadership: You are a teacher first. You have a strong ability to lead and train staff on all positions.

    • Availability: Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

    • ServSafe Manager Certification.
